I checked Amazon and found that they are sold out of my book and several companies are selling it as well. So, I decided to sell copies too, except mine will be autographed and only $2.00 for shipping.

Though slow at times, the book is progressing. With the final edit done, it is off to typesetting and arranging the contents of the book. Due to a few hiccups we are behind on schedule, but not hurt for a fall release. It all seems sureal to have this life long dream realized. I guess it will be more real when I finally hold the book in my hand and when I can find it as an ebook on my Kindle.

Spent the last three days of my vaction with my wife revamping my manuscript after my editor got a hold of it. She sliced and diced, with the greatest of intentions of course. I took all her advice and with the tracking changes the end result looked like someone had spilled spaghetti sauce on it. The changes being in red that is. I returned the finished project back to my editor and she forwarded it on to the chief editor who says that it now goes to copy editing. It is moving along.

Today I received an email from my editor. That sounds strange. My editor. His name is Kit and I am excited to be working with Deep River Books. I now have to knuckle down and start the process of further crafting the book. It is a bit strange and somewhat exciting to have an editorial team and deadlines and such. I know this is old hat to some writers, but this is my first journey down this road. I am excited to be on the journey.

Today I signed the Author Agreement with Deep River Books. Step two in the publishing process. Now, it is sit and wait for the finer details of the process.

Well, my first blog concerning the publishing of my first book. To be quite honest there is a little apprehension in that it took roughly thirteen years of my life (on and off) to research and to write this book. This is not my life's work, but it is from 1/5 of it (my life I mean). To put it out there for all to see is a little fearful. What if others think it stupid or bad. Then I think to what I heard author and speaker Chris Brady say about this: "Its for who its for." Not everyone is going to be interested. Not everyone is going to like it. Not everyone is going to be impressed. Just those for who it is for. So, I guess I wrote it for those people. If you are one of those people, I wrote it for you. I am good with that.
As for my writing, it stems from two sources: my love of Science Fiction and my love of writing. Even though this is my first novel, it is not my first attempt at writing or publishing. There is no overnight success here. I have been writing since I can remember and have always loved to tell stories. I am humbled that I have a chance to make a dream come true: to be a published author of a novel. I have many different blogs and articles that my name is ascribed to, but not a novel. The chapter of getting it to publishing has just started. I am excited with the journey!
