A Spritual Relationship with a Living God

One can speculate from dawn to dusk about the origins of the universe and where it is heading, yet that does nothing for the individual soul. Have you ever wondered "What am I here for?" A loving, living God has the answers to that and all the other pressing questions on your heart and in your mind. Those answers are found in Him and are revealed in His word the Bible.

In this crazy, spinning-out-of-control world, there is someone who cares for you. His name is Jesus. People scoff at this idea, but why do they not scoff so much at the name of Buddha, Allah, etc. It is because deep down inside there is this sneaking suspicion that it may be true. The truth does that to us. It upsets everything we ever believed to be true and we don’t want to believe we could be wrong.

What was Jesus’ mission to earth? To make bad people good? No, it was to make spiritually dead people alive. (See the discussions on the  Additional Writings page for more information). We are spiritually dead because we have a condition called sin. Sin is missing the mark. The Bible says that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). That sin separates us from God. Unless it is removed and our spirits are revived, we will spend eternity like we spent our lives, separated from Him. Because of this sin we deserve this separation.

Another part and the most important, of the “why” Jesus came to earth to die for us is that He loves us. Being dead in our sins we could not save ourselves, yet He loved us and came to earth to take our penalty for that sin. It doesn’t stop there; He wants a relationship with us, now and for eternity.

To have a relationship with a living and loving God is simply as ABC.

Admit that you are a sinner and that you have no way of saving yourself from the spiritually dead condition that you are in. We all are estranged from God and have no form of being even close to being what He requires us to be.

Believe that God sent His Son Jesus to save us from those sins and spiritually dead condition. Believe that by His power He can and will do this.

Commit to God by professing that Jesus is the Son of God and only by His dying in our place on the cross is what saves you. Commit that He will direct your life and that you will rely on Him and His direction.
